Our story

A Canadian virtual airline built on the craft

Taking you upwards in all directions — with realism, professionalism, and a community that loves the northern skies.

Origin

Where Avid Air comes from

Avid Air was founded in Grande Prairie, Alberta — a Peace-country town under the northern sky at CYQU. The first Avid tail, C-FAVX, was ferried south to Edmonton CYEG to open the network.

We're deliberately Canadian, and deliberately sim-agnostic. Whether you fly X-Plane 12, MSFS 2020, or MSFS 2024, you're welcome here. Our tools glue everything together — SimBrief dispatch, OnAir economy, SayIntentions.AI radio, and the Avid Companion desktop app that keeps them all talking.

We believe we have the power to alter our own destinies. Learn, grow, experience and reach for the skies with Avid.

Looking ahead

The best is still on approach

We're building a virtual airline that treats its pilots like adults, its aircraft like real machines, and its community like family. Ribbons for real credentials, ranks that mean something, and dispatch flow that actually saves time.
